Green Awards, the First All-Russian Competition on Sustainable Development and Energy Efficiency
The Competition is organized by the Guild of Property Managers and Developers and supported by the RF Ministry of regional development and Ministry for natural resources and environment.
In 2009 a new Federal Law № 261- FZ "On energy conservation and increased energy efficiency” came into force and it was the first step in the way to energy efficient and sustainable construction in Russia.
In comparison with Europe, Russian eco-development is at its embryo stage. The main reason for this situation is the lack of information about the real prospects of the Green standards in construction. Also for the successful introduction of green technologies it is necessary to develop appropriate legislative framework and tools.
Objective of the Competition is to disseminate experience of successful resource-efficient and environment-minded projects and to make public promotion of the input of developers, builders and architects into the Sustainable Development of Russia.
The Competition attracts attention of authorities, international environmental protection experts and leading companies of the Russian real estate market.
Competition Final will be held within the VI International Investment Forum PROEstate, which will take place on 12-14 September 2012 in St. Petersburg.
Information for participants:
Participation in the Competition is open for any investment, development and construction companies, architectural studios, design bureaus carrying out projects based on the energy-efficiency and sustainable technologies.

Registration for Green Awards 2012 will last from March, 1 till July, 16 2012.
Participation is free.
Winners are determined by the Supervisory Board, the Jury and the Expert Committee.
The Supervisory Board and the Jury unite authorities, heads of the largest management and development companies, international experts on environmental protection.
Members of he Expert Committee are the experts who have practical experience of implementing sustainable and energy efficient projects.
All communication is carried out via a special web portal.
Individual access to it is available for all participants, the Supervisory Board, the Jury and the Expert Committee.
